Hello from rainy New Jersey! This week we are in Clifton, NJ playing at Upper Montclair Country Club. Today’s second round was washed out. The rain started early this morning and did not recede. The greens went over around noon and play was canceled at 4:00pm today. The LPGA has a rule that if half the field is unable to complete on 9 holes in any given day, the round is canceled. The event is now a 54-hole event. A cut to 70 and ties after tomorrow’s round and then an 18-hole finish on Sunday. I was set to play at 1:00pm today…I headed to the course as usual at 10:30am and waited through delays and headed home at end.

The 100 degree Las Vegas weather is sounding pretty good right now!
I will have the same time on Saturday and a great group again to play with. I am paired with Cristie Kerr and Annika Sorenstam. What a group! Early this week, Annika announced she would be retiring from the LPGA after the 2008 season. What a surprise!!!! 72 wins and many accomplishments, Annika willl certainly be missed. She has brought so much to the Tour. Women’s golf has been so lucky to have such a classy professional as Annika as our #1 player for so many years. She brings so much to every event she plays in, she is a fantastic role model and wonderful to her fans. She is a very good friend of mine and I will really miss seeing her every week.

Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill

Hi From Kingsmill, Virginia!

The Michelob Ultra Open was voted “Best LPGA Event in 2007″ by players. They spoil us this week. From start to finish the volunteers, staff and Michelob team take great care of us. Some players got in as late as 1:00am on Monday, and the volunteers from Michelob Ultra were at the airport to welcome them and drive them 50 miles to the resort. Wow!

Michelob Ultra is one of my sponsors so I have a great time hosting events and seeing everyone from the company. I hosted the draw party on Monday, and We had a Pro-Am party Tuesday complete with live music and fireworks. The Pro-Am Tournament is Wednesday. My team made “Team Natalie” hats. I was flattered! The guys looked so cute too! On Friday, Busch Gardens will open the park exclusively for players, staff, friends and family and they are throwing us a beer garden party. Saturday is the Tony Pontura VIP dinner. This is a great night because we have a 20 person dinner that overlooks the James River. Lots to do!

The course is in the best shape I have ever seen. The weather is perfect! I am excited to play tomorrow. I tee off at 12:45 tomorrow. After struggling the last few weeks,I look forward to the weekly opportunity to play well. That’s what is so great about the Tour, and golf in general; there is always a new week and chance to move up the money list. I hope everyone gets a chance to watch on TV. It’s a spectacular place and event. At the very least, you should all take a peek when they show hole #17. The 170-yard par-three that runs along the river. I love the tee box. It has a panoramic view of the river and you can see the naval carriers and battleships. It’s a sight to behold!

This week I am staying with my friend Joe Latchem. I have stayed at his house for 6 years. I always enjoy coming to visit and staying with him. He leaves me thoughtful cards of good luck and motivational quotes every morning. He prints out the weather reports and comes out and cheers me on for each hole, every day. A lot of the girls stay in private housing on Tour. It’s a home away from home and we all have made some great friends on the road.

Hope everyone is great. Happy Mothers’ day to all the mothers out there. My mom is coming in Thursday this week and I am looking forward to spending Mothers’ Day with her.

Hello From Tulsa!

SemGroup is the title sponsor of this event, as well as my personal sponsor, so this week is even more special! The SemGroup team has spoiled us. They gave all the team members a Tiffany cuff and they have thrown some great parties. They have also chartered a private flight for us to and from the event. The facilities are wonderful and they treat everyone involved so well! On Monday, we had a small pro-am and a private concert from Taylor Dane. She was really good! We had casino night on Tuesday for the pro-am draw party, which was a formal event, another pro-am Wednesday, and a concert from Vince Gil on Saturday night. The event starts Thursday, four days on a beautiful course called Cedar Ridge. It’s a really great event and SemGroup is a fantastic supporter and partner of the LPGA and myself. I am very lucky to have them. Over the years I have done fun outings and golf events in Monte Carlo, and they even took me and my friends to the Bahamas! Tom and Greg head the company and have become good friends of mine.

I got a new driver! The new TaylorMade CGB. I am driving it 10 yards further and solid! I am jazzed!

I have been working very hard on my game, and I am really looking forward to playing this week. I have been striking the ball better every day. Last week I struggled with my iron play, which is frustrating because my irons are the strongest part of my game.

The weather report shows tornado warnings and high winds. I am really going to need good knock down shots and iron play. Hope the weather report is wrong!

Hope everyone out there is doing well!

Natalie
