I recently made an appearance at the 11th annual Canon Customer Appreciation Reception. Canon’s customers and dealers enjoyed exciting musical entertainment, a live and silent auction and fine cuisine on Friday, January 8th at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Some of the other celebrities in attendance were Alice Cooper, Cheech Marin and Kevin Sorbo.

The event is a benefit for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). To date, over $356,000 has been raised and all proceeds go directly to NCMEC in support of their cause.

NCMEC works tirelessly to fight child abduction and to safely reunite missing children with their families. Since its establishment in 1984 as a private non-profit organization, NCMEC has played a role in the recovery of more than 138,500 children, assisted with more than 158,100 missing child cases, processed more than 675,250 reports on its CyberTipline, and handled more than 2.3 million telephone calls through its toll-free Hotline (1-800-THE-LOST). I was excited to help my corporate partner in an effort to support such an important cause!

I am a huge fan of CSI and have been watching the show for many years. I was thrilled when recently asked to make a guest appearance! I especially enjoyed having the opportunity to experience the process of how an episode of a show comes together. I was able to watch first hand beginning with the first time I read the script, to then being on site of the episode watching the crew film. It was an incredibly unique experience. I can’t wait to see how it comes together when the show is edited and airs. I feel that the fact that CSI asked professional golfers to make guest appearances is a testament to how much the sport is growing in popularity in the US.

The episode airs Thursday, January 21st on CBS at 9pm. Be sure to tune in to watch it with me for first time!

My most memorable moments as a professional golfer came from being a part of three Solheim Cup Teams. After the U.S. Team’s win against Europe last year, we were invited by President Obama to come to the White House and spend time with him. It was an honor to be recognized by our President and he was extremely gracious in giving his time to us.

Before meeting with President Obama in the afternoon, we spent the day touring the monuments and the White House. Upon meeting the President, we took pictures and he chatted with us about his golf game and his recent trip to Hawaii, where he managed to make his first birdie with a 2 iron. The girls and I were of course surprised that he still uses a 2 iron! He also asked us if we had any tips to get his daughters involved in golf. We suggested that he take them to watch us play. We presented him with a left handed putter and he immediately took the cover off and started working on his putting stroke in the Oval Office. He gave us each a golf ball signed with the presidential logo and congratulated us on the team’s victory. It was quite an honor not only be in the White House, but to be congratulated by the President of The United States.

After meeting President Obama, we had a Victory Gala at the University Club with the team, media and sponsors. It was fun to be back with the girls and team captains, Meg Mallon, Kelly Robbins and Beth Daniels!
