I recently held my annual charity golf event at The Loon Golf Resort in Northern Michigan, to benefit the United Way. I was really excited for the event, because I had heard such wonderful things about the resort for so long! It is a beautiful resort in Northern Michigan, and is also the Michigan home of the Butch Harmon School of Golf. I originally met the Manni Family at the BHSG when John and Kathy were students. We met and became fast friends and they graciously asked me to be part of their Golf Resort and committed to helping me with my fundraising efforts for the Boys & Girls Clubs with annual charity tournaments.

Before arriving for the event, I had seen many pictures, but it hardly did the resort justice…. it’s so beautiful! The course is in pristine shape and the layout is challenging and fun to play. What really makes the resort a treat to visit, is the incredible hospitality. Guests can stay at either the Butch Harmon Getaway condo or Natalie Gulbis Getaway condo, both with 4 bedrooms, overlooking the 18th hole. The clubhouse overlooks the 18th green and the club is famous for the ball toss. Throughout my stay, I learned more about the “ball toss”. The “ball toss” is a sunset tradition of tossing golf balls from the deck behind the restaurant to the 18th green. Whoever gets it closest to the pin at the end of the night wins cash. I enjoyed the challenge and participated in bets every night during the toss. After the first two nights of the challenge, I was up a few dollars, but I must admit, my shoulder was ready to be iced or rest! Pathetic I know!

Ihad a great weekend. After flying in on Friday afternoon, I hosted a junior clinic, as well as dinner. On Saturday, the day of golf started with a shotgun outing, and was followed by a clinic and putting contest. We had perfect weather and I enjoyed driving in carts and spending time with each of the groups. It seemed to me that everyone was having a great time!!! A group of 125 of us watched pre-season football and the PGA Championship in the clubhouse between golf and dinners. We ended the weekend with live music and spent time around a beautiful fire pit. It was an unbelievably fun and relaxing weekend filled with golf. Click here to see photos of the resort, or to learn more about the resort that Butch and I are so excited about. You can also visit the link below for more photos from the event.

I look forward to returning in September, to host the Natalie Gulbis Pro-Am!!

Natalie Gulbis made her bikini calendars for some time. Several years in a row they were best sellers among wall calendars each year.

Then came a marketing stragity change. No more calendars, just a career and image focused on golf. I know I was disappointed and I know I was not alone in my thoughts. I can guarantee there were an awful lot of Natalie Gulbis fans out there that would understand my disappointment.

But as the years past, technology changed and twitpic was born. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The ability to take pictures with a camera or cell phone and immediately post them to the web was a godsend.

Natalie Gulbis Bikini

Natalie Gulbis was in her home city of Las Vegas recently and was kind enough to post a photo of herself and her good friend Mel in bikinis on twitpic! At long last a recent picture of Natalie Gulbis in a bikini and she looks absolutely stunning! If it’s possible, Natalie may have lost a couple pounds and looks as gorgeous as ever!

What a five week stretch of tournaments! The LPGA ending five weeks of tournaments at Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was awesome!!!

U.S. Open’s are so special! Being an American an dcompeting in the Open is an honor. It’s such an exciting week as we typicallyhave our largest galleries! It’s always incredible to see so many fans. Thank you to everyone who came out to watch the Open, and to those who watched the event on TV. I only caught a few minutes on NBC, but the course sparkled. Oakmont is a course rich in tradition and history. It’s also the trickiest course I have ever played! Below, you can see a photo of me with my wonderful hostesses at my U.S. Open housing.

In addition to golf, the week was packed with appearances for my corporate partners. My partner, Lexus, had a great event at the Lexus Club at PNC Park in downtown Pittsburgh (think 200+ in a luxury setting) on Tuesday. Later in the week, I had an autograph signing for TaylorMade-Adidas and Lexus in the merchandise tent, as well as one in the Lexus show room off site. I also did a meet and greet for partner Michelob ULTRA. My final appearance was after the tournament, when I played Oakmont the Monday after the event with 8 contest winners from the yearly Lexus sweepstakes event. You can see a photo from that day below too.

It was a lot different playing that Monday on soft receptive greens at 8 am! The greens at Oakmont this week were fast and challenging and the course was in perfect shape, despite the Friday storms. I learned that after the storms, the maintenance crew stayed up all night to get the course ready for us on the weekend. The weather over the weekend was perfect! See another picture below from my Lexus outing on Monday where they let me ride the greens mower on the 17th green.

It was definitely intense having two Majors in five weeks. I’m exhausted and looking forward to this week off. The next two events are in Europe. The Evian Masters in France and the British Open in the UK! This week I will be watching the PGA at the British, spending time with my team at IMG in NYC and practicing for the two big events coming up!

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July holiday and enjoyed watching the LPGA Tour play in the USA the past 5 weeks!!
