This past weekend I flew into Cleveland, OH to play in a charity golf outing for Akron Children’s Hospital. The LOPen Charity Golf outing at StoneWater Golf Club in Highland Heights, OH, was an event organized to benefit the Oncology Unit at the hospital. The day started with a breakfast where I was able to meet a past patient of the hospital. So often, children are fans of professional athletes, and revere them as ‘heroes’. This young man is a ‘true’ hero in my eyes. His courage and strength are an inspiration to me.
Later that day, I played a hole with each group, and the event ended with a dinner and silent auction. I was excited to take part in such a great event that benefited children, as they are an important aspect of my philanthropic work. It was truly a pleasure being involved with an event that helped support such a wonderful cause!
