Hello from Atlanta, Georgia!
Today was a great photo shoot for TaylorMade and Adidas. The photo shoot was a four day event with TaylorMade-Adidas athletes. Twelve of us and 300 staff and film crews took over Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia. Twice each year TMag gets all the athletes in one place (a feat in and of itself!) to shoot the following seasons print campaign for apparel and equipment and also to shoot their commercials.
I have been a TaylorMade-Adidas athlete for seven years and we have done these shoots anywhere from Hawaii, Dallas, Vegas, LA, and Florida. They are first class all the way and fun! Sunday night all the athletes arrive and we catch up with the team and get to see next season’s irons and drivers! I can’t wait for this next driver. It’s incredible. Should be out around Christmas! And new irons too! The apparel is always fun and fashionable and 2009 is our best yet! Great colors, prints and cuts. I am very lucky to be with such a great brand.
I love to be around other tour players. I am able to see what they are like off the course and in a relaxed environment. I met Nick Faldo and Mike Weir for the first time. What great guys! I have seen Sergio Garcia at several photo shoots. He is always high energy and fun and I enjoy most watching them hit balls up close and picking their brains on what they really think about over the ball, a high pressure situation, or even a workout! What a treat.
What made the days in Atlanta even better were my best friends Mitch and Lara Mitchelson picking me up from the airport and driving with me the 90 minutes to Reynolds Plantation, the location of the shoot. Laughing and telling stories the entire time was so great! There is currently a gas shortage in GA. This was quite a challenging situation! We went to a dozen gas stations and no gas! We drove on the freeway, got off at several exits and no gas! Fortunately there was one station in rural Georgia that had a multi-car line for gas! Phew! This has affected the lives of the Southeast in a very tough and unusual way!
Well I am off to the airport. Take care
Natalie
