Natalie Gulbis posted a first round 2 under par 70 at the 2009 Sybase Classic.

Natalie negated 2 early birdies with 3 bogies and that added up to a one over par 37 for the front side on day one. Natalie Gulbis put on her rally cap and posted 3 birdies on the back side for a very nice 3 under par 33 on the final nine. Together, not a bad day at 2 under par to open the tournament.

Helen Alfredsson just lit it up on day one with an amazing 10 under par 62 to lead the tournament.

Natalie Gulbis just couldn’t get it going on the final day at the 2009 Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill. A slow start and several bogeys on the back side made for a one over par 72.

After 2 superb rounds on Friday and Saturday, Sunday started out very uneventful. A birdie at number 8 is all Natalie could produce on the front side for a one under 35. The back side was a different story as a couple loose lugnuts caused the cart to wobble and Natalie faltered to 3 bogeys and a single birdie on the back side for a 2 over par 37.

Natalie Gulbis’ week was all in all an excellent one as she finished nine under par for the tournament and a tie for seventh place with Angela Stafford. Cristie Kerr won the event with a final round 70 as all the players scores seem to rise on the final day.

Natalie Gulbis was scheduled to board an NBC provided private jet to fly to New York for the season finale of the Celebrity Apprentice. With her top ten finish Natalie was in the final few pairings which could have contributed to her missing the finale. Other than a one second shot of Natalie at the final task event that was taped, Natalie Gulbis failed to appear on the live Celebrity Apprentice final show.

Natalie Gulbis gained ground on the leaders on day 3 at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill. A very nice 3 under 68 has put Natalie Gulbis within 5 shots of the lead after 3 rounds.

Natalie again started hot as she birdied 4 of the first 11 holes, only to give one back with a lone bogey on number 16. A three under front side 33 and and even par 35 on the back gave Natalie Gulbis a very respectable 68 for the day. For anyone keeping score, thats all three rounds under par!

With the 68 on day three Natalie Gulbis is in 5th place tied with Wendy Ward and Lorna Ochoa at 5 shots behind leader Lindsey Wright who had a superb day three carding a seven under 64.

Natalie tees off with Wendy Ward at 12:14 PM eastern on Sunday. That puts Natalie 2 groups behind the leaders and she should get some great television time on Sunday.

Natalie Gulbis shot a blistering 6 under par 65 on day 2 of the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill.

Two birdies on the front and another 4 on the back allowed Natalie Gulbis to card her best round in quite a while. It was a day to remember for Natalie Gulbis as there wasn’t one bogey to offset the six birdies!

Even a great day like that only allowed Natalie Gulbis to keep pace with leader Lorena Ochoa who has posted rounds of 64 and 65 to lead the tournament after 2 rounds at 13 under par. Natalie Gulbis now is in a tie for 6th place at seven under par, 6 shots behind Ochoa.
