Natalie Gulbis Awarded The William and Mousie Powell Award

Keeping a positive attitude has always been a priority for the 25-year-old Natalie Gulbis, the recipient of the William and Mousie Powell Award. She took almost six years—a stretch where everything from her swing to her image was called into question—to record her first victory on the LPGA Tour. When it came, a season filled with lingering back problems that forced her to withdraw from several events was all but forgotten. Gulbis’ sudden-death playoff victory over Jeong Jang at the Evian Masters effectively hushed her critics and, for Gulbis, it solidified an already impressive career.

“Exemplifying a positive attitude and spirit on and off the course has always been very important to me and I am sincerely touched that my fans and colleagues recognize my efforts to do so,” Natalie Gulbis said. “It is with great honor that I accept this award on behalf of the LPGA. I would like to express my gratitude to all of my colleagues who voted for me.”
