As pretty as Natalie Gulbis is, the Final Round of the Wegmans LPGA was just darn ugly. All Natalie could put together was a 4 over par 76 on Sunday.

The day started poorly with bogeys on both #1 and #2. From there a birdie at number 6 and a bogey at number eight cancelled each other out giving Natalie a 2 over 37 for the front side. The back didn’t start much better with a bogey on number 10. Just when things steadied out for a while, a nasty double-bogey 6 jumped out and got Natalie on number 16. She did keep her cool and came back and birdied number 17 in route to a 2 over 39 on the back nine. All in all a rough day at 4 over par.

Natalie finished in a tie for 61st place. On to Toledo and the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger.

Day three at the McDonald’s LPGA Championship turned out to Natalie Gulbis’ best day so far as Natalie carded a three under par 69.

Natalie birdied holes 3 and 4 while posting par on the rest of the front side for a stellar 2 under 34. A birdie on number 10 was quickly negated by a bogey on 11 and then another bogey on number 13. Natalie Gulbis then birdied 15 and 16 to get going in the right direction again for a one under par 35 on the back side. Together, the front and back of day three made up the 3 under par round of 69.

Natalie is currently even par for the tournament after three days.

As steady as day one was for Natalie Gulbis at the 2009 McDonalds LPGA Championship, day two was another story. Wobbling most of the day, Natalie Gulbis was only able to post a 3 over par 75 for the day.

Out of the gate it was destined to be a rough day as Natalie bogeyed both holes number one and two. Then showing her guts she came back and birdied numbers three and number six to pull even for the day. Bogeys on 8, 11, and 12 sent her to three over par. A birdie on number 16 seemed to save the day as it brought Natalie to 2 under par for the tournament with the projected cut line at three over par. That good feeling went away with a bogey on number 18 however to leave Natalie Gulbis at 3 over par and seriously in danger of missing the cut in this LPGA Major. Natalie could only wait and see what the rest of the field would do before finding out her fate for the weekend.

A couple hours later all was good as the entire field backed up pushing the cut to 4 over and allowing Natalie Gulbis to play on Saturday and Sunday. Natalie certainly dodged a bullet and currently is in a tie for 65th place at 3 over par… but still playing on Saturday.

The final edition of the LPGA Corning Classic has come and gone… 2009 is the last year the event will be held. Natalie Gulbis posted 3 rounds under par for the event including a final day 69.

After turning in birdies on 7 of 9 front side holes on Saturday, Natalie Gulbis bogied hole number one on Sunday. Not to despair, Natalie came back and birdied 3 of the next eight holes to finish the front side in 2 under 34. Natalie then birdies 12 and 14 on the back, only to give one back on number 18 for a back side one under 35. Another sub par round for Natalie as she turned in a final day 69.

The leaders continued their scorching play and ventured into unheard of numbers as Paula Creamer finished the event 20 under par only to land in second place behind Yani Tseng who finshed an amazing 21 under par for the 4 days.

Natalie’s game has been solid here lately. She has been just outside the top 10 and knocking on the door of real contention. Lets hope her back and golf game can stay on this same path and continue a rise to the top in the near future!
