Celebrity Apprentice was crazy last week when Donald Trump inexplicably did not fire Clint Black for his video. Clint Black put the rather silly, rather unfunny video together with virtually no input from his teammates and was rejected by the All detergent execs for its suggestive nature.

I wonder what you think really happened? My suspicion is the producers needed to get rid of two dead wood personalities (sorry, T-Boz and Khloe) and keep the clashing of Joan Rivers-Clint Black going a while longer.

This week, Sunday’s episode focused on the two Rivers and poker player the outspoken Annie Duke. And since the first challenge was kinda boring (and eliminated the uninspired Brian McKnight), the second hour contained another challenge, a fashion show/fundraiser featuring Ivanka Trump’s jewelry.

The fireworks started during the boardroom of the first challenge, in which the two teams created a point-of-sale display for an identity theft program Lifelock.

Both teams did a good job but Natalie Gulbis‘ team, with Joan Rivers, Herschel Walker and Clint Black, was far more creative in it’s packaging. The lone drawback, the display didn’t hold the item they were selling.

Clint Black and Joan Rivers got along during the first challenge after clashing last week. Very strange but not unexpected as they probably received some feedback that they looked a little silly.

Joan Rivers contention was that Annie Duke was going to take down Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick in the boardroom for being lame and not so smart but instead Annie Duke let Rivers’ daughter Melissa be the one facing the ire of Donald Trump.

During the fashion show challenge, Annie Duke strangely became cutsie with Brande Roderick, who was slef indulged by this particular task and was even going to be a model during the show. Melissa Rivers was extremely jealous.

Natalie Gulbis came up with the amazing thought “it’d be great to get one of Duke’s poker rivals to show up at the fashion show and buy jewelry for the Joan Rivers team.” Joan Rivers was very excited that Natalie Gulbis was willing to go in the “gutter” with her and show some spunk.

The two hour Celebrity Apprentice ended with a twist. Last year’s winner Piers Morgan will help out Donald Trump to oversee the two teams, noting that Jesse James hasn’t raised any money and Melissa is a bit of a drama queen and isn’t well liked. It will be interesting just how much more competitive Morgan can make both teams.

I look for Natalie Gulbis to get very high marks if she can help pull off another win with her great idea!

Natalie Gulbis On Celebrity Apprentice
(Natalie Gulbis and Team Athena discuss their ideas for selling wedding gowns.)

Episode 3 of the Celebrity Apprentice featured the men’s and women’s teams trying to sell wedding dresses to raise money for charity. Project managers Tom Green and Brande Roderick squared off as the teams were provided make shift stores to sell the wedding dresses in.

Natalie Gulbis is still flying under the radar with really not much involvement. Not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing for Natalie Gulbis.

Dennis Rodman was AWOL, Tom Green was late and hung over…. well the men sealed their own fate. In the end, Tom Greene was fired and Dennis lives another week.

Natalie Gulbis played a much more prominent role in the 2nd episode of the The Celebrity Apprentice 2. So much so that Natalie Gulbis‘ legs were a featured element of the show.

Still broken out in men vs women teams, The Celebrity Apprentice 2 cast was introduced to Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos.com. Donald Trump explained to the celebrities that the task for this episode would be for each team to create, design, and present an ad campaign featuring a costumed super hero and a 4 page comic strip to promote ZAPPOS.com. The Project Managers were selected, Khloe Kardashian for team ATHENA and Scott Hamilton for team KOTU. Neither person jumped at the chance to be project manager, they were actually “assigned” by each team…. and accepted.

The men seemed to struggle again, everyone wanting to do their own thing. The women had an easier time of it and came up with a super hero that was an average woman turned into a Zappos.com super shopper. The person chosen to wear the super hero costume was not former Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick, but the gorgeous and wholesome Natalie Gulbis. Very high heeled boots and a short skirt put Natalie Gulbis’ legs on display. So much so when a fellow cast member asked why Natalie Gulbis was chosen, they replied “Just look at her, she’s gorgeous… and look at those legs!”

The women indeed were on task and Tony Hsieh selected Team Athena as the winner. As always, someone was voted off the losing team and that turned out to be Scott Hamilton.

All in all, Natalie Gulbis looked alot more comfortable in Episode 2 than she did in Episode 1.

Except in this picture where she doesn’t look to be thrilled that someone is taking her picture in the costume.

Natalie Gulbis premiered on The Celebrity Apprentice last night in episode 1. Natalie didn’t get much “pub” on the show… similar to the commercials promoting the show this year. Not sure if that was by design or not.

Natalie looked somewhat nervous in this episode kind of taking a back seat to what was going on. Could have been Natalie actually being nervous or the producers playing on the other personalities and just giving viewers the impression that Natalie didn’t appear that involved. I think thats something to watch as the season goes along. Jennie Finch was quiet and not involved last year and got the boot early. Natalie Gulbis is a smart business person and I think she will be fine.

It was a simple boys versus girls contest in week one, with the team that sold the most dollars for the cupcakes they made winning. The producers gave us the impression the men were doing very well as they continually showed us the big checks coming in. The women, as it appeared, only received one very large amount at the very end of the competition.

As it turns out, the girl’s cupcake won a taste test and an additional $15,000 in sales as a result. This amount pushed them ahead of the male team and they won the challenge. All along it looked like Natalie Gulbis‘ team was going to lose and in the end they came out big winners.

Highlights included Natalie Gulbis getting blamed for a recipe error during the baking of the cupcakes that actually turned out to win them the competition when the recipe was doctored a little, Joan Rivers winning $150,000 for her charity as the project manager, and Andrew Dice Clay getting fired as a result of his lack of true effort and almost quitting the show in the boardroom.

All in all an interesting week one on The Celebrity Apprentice with Natalie Gulbis.
